The 42nd Annual El Tour de Tucson is set to take place on Saturday, November 22, bringing over 10,000 cyclists through Southern Arizona. The event will include routes that pass through the Town of Sahuarita.

El Tour de Tucson highlights community participation and endurance while showcasing the Sonoran Desert. The event attracts visitors from across the United States.

To facilitate the event and maintain safety for both participants and residents, several temporary road and ramp closures are planned in Sahuarita. Closures include:

– I-19 & Sahuarita Road Interchange from 9 AM to 4 PM
– I-19 & Continental Road Interchange from 8:30 AM to 2 PM
– Westbound and eastbound Continental Road between CPAC and Duval Mine Road from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM
– Northbound Mission Road between Duval Mine Road and Helmet Peak Road from 9:30 AM to 2:25 PM

Flaggers will be present at designated areas to assist with traffic flow.

Several aid stations will be available for riders in the Sahuarita and Green Valley area, including locations at Houghton Rd & Sahuarita Rd, Continental Rd, Mission Rd near Helmet Peak Rd, and Nogales Highway.

Residents are advised to use alternative routes where possible, follow instructions from law enforcement and traffic control personnel, and support riders as they pass through the community.
