State Rep. Bret Roberts (R-Maricopa) has been awarded the 2019 Family Champion Award by the Center for Arizona Policy.
Roberts announced he had won the award on his Facebook page Nov. 21.
He also posted the letter he received from the Center for Arizona Policy telling him he had been selected for the honor.
"This Family Champion Award is presented in recognition of your stand on the issues of life, marriage and family and religious freedom," Maddalena Savary, legislative counsel, wrote in the letter to Roberts. "Thank you for your work in Arizona to protect the sanctity of human life from its very beginning to its natural end, for your support of marriage and families so they can thrive and for your creation of a legacy of religious freedom affirmed and free from government interference."
