A real estate agent in Sahuarita has co-founded a Facebook group to help deliver food and supplies to people in need during the coronavirus pandemic.

“It started when some of us were just chatting about the disasters in the grocery stores,” Mary Mingo told Green Valley News. “A lot of us work with older people or even young people who have multiple children and are trying to navigate through the shortages at the grocery store and are trying to do the right thing by self-quarantining.”

The Facebook group was originally geared toward assisting seniors but there has been an increasing need for the service among all members of the community. While anyone can help gather needed supplies, deliveries are made by real estate agents since they have had background checks and are thus deemed trustworthy. Deliveries are available to individuals in Sahuarita, Green Valley and the surrounding areas.

Among some of the needed items have been non-perishable food, bottled water, toilet paper, formula, diapers and baby wipes.
