Pima County to observe a complete lockdown to mitigate deadly COVID-19 spread

The Board of Supervisors of Pima County have decided to shut down bars, restaurants and theaters to discourage social gathering as a measure to put a stop to the spread of COVID-19.

All public gathering spots are required to suspend their operation effective until March 31. According to GV News, the declaration of emergency is applicable on restaurants, bars, gyms, museums, breweries, indoor and outdoor sporting facilities, theaters, cinemas and all similar recreational businesses in Pima County as well as Green Valley, Sahuarita is exempted from this order. Grocery stores, convenience stores and pharmacies are exempt from this order.

The administrations of Sahuarita, Marana and Oro Valley have proclaimed emergency as well encouraging masses to follow the national mandate of social distancing, self-quarantining and avoiding public gatherings. However, they haven’t yet ordered businesses to suspend their activities.
