With $56 million in funding recently approved by the Pima County Board of Supervisors, the County Department of Transportation is aiming to repair and preserve approximately 182 miles of roadway in the next fiscal year.
Plans for road work include approximately 45 miles of arterial and collector roads and 127 miles of other local roads, according to a statement posted to the Pima County website.
The county has created a list of planned road work, as well as an interactive map, though the lists do not currently include any hint of when the work will begin for the identified roads.
The map can be found on ArcGis, and a list of local roads has been posted to the county website, along with a list of arterial and collector roads.
While some local funds will go toward the projects, the county is also using a financing option similar to bonds combined with revenue from the state’s Highway User Revenue Funds.
