COPPER VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: Anza Trail 8th Grade Promotion Celebration July 16, 2020

Celebration

Copper View Elementary School issued the following announcement on June 24

Congratulations on promoting from 8 th Grade! As you prepare to embark on your newest chapter as a high school freshman, our Anza Family wants to celebrate your K-8 experience with a drive-up promotion celebration on Thursday, July 16th, 2020, at Anza Trail School. It is our hope that your promotion experience provides you with some much needed closure to the most unique year on record. Although not the same format as our traditional ceremony, it will still be very special. A BIG THANK YOU to each of you and your families for your patience during this unprecedented time. You each have worked hard throughout the year and especially during the 4th quarter when you invited us into your home virtually. We cannot wait to see you now in person on Thursday the 16th. Additional details for our Drive-Up Promotion Ceremony include the following:

 Our 8th Grade Drive-Up Promotion will begin at 7:00 am for ALL early birds.

 8:00 am time slot is for students with the last name initial of A-L.

 9:00 am time slot is for students with the last name initial of M-Z.

 10:00 am time slot is for ANY late arrivals.

 Please limit to one car per student’s family and enter through our normal drop-off entrance. We will have staff directing you to the actual “staged” area.

 Only the promoting 8th grader can exit the vehicle to receive aforementioned promotion certificates/awards, must be COVID free, and free of any flu-like symptoms.

 Due to the increasing amount of COVID cases in the county, we are asking students and staff to wear face coverings when 6 ft. distancing is not possible during the certificate exchange.

 When receiving your certificate(s), a student can choose an “elbow bump” or a hand shake. Hands will be sanitized between students.

The Drive-Up Promotion marks the end of your student’s K-8 experience. We recognize the significance of this culminating event to students, families, and staff. Some like to commemorate this special event with a special outfit. That is optional. We simply ask that each student be in school-appropriate clothes (whether shorts, skirts, dresses, jeans, shirts of any color and not necessarily a uniform, etc.).

Thank you for your consideration and cooperation in making this experience memorable and safe for all. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me. Congratulations!
