The City of Tucson has introduced a new grant program designed to help small businesses make improvements.

The Visual Improvement Program is a matching grant program that will let business owners and property owners make improvements to the exteriors of their buildings, according to a press release from the City of Tucson

"The purpose of the VIP program is to encourage investment and revitalization in key commercial areas and corridors through incentives and infrastructure improvements," the city said in the press release. "The program is designed to help properties in need of revitalization and assist property owners or business owners with storefront facelifts."

Through the program, the City of Tucson will also give technical assistance to the organizations renovating or restoring their properties, facades, signs or lighting.

To apply for a grant, applicants should be commercial property owners or commercial tenants in the city limits, according to the city press release.

More information on the program is available at Connect Tucson
