Flagstaff City Government issued the following announcement on July 27.
The Phoenix Avenue block from Beaver Street to Mikes Pike will be closed to vehicular traffic with limited pedestrian access to the businesses along the south side of the street from Aug. 2 through Nov. 30, 2021.
Detour routes for pedestrian and vehicular traffic will be posted around the closure. The closure allows for the removal and replacement of the Phoenix Avenue Bridge, to replace an aging waterline in the area, and to reprofile Phoenix Avenue to achieve a standard street section.
Mountain Line will detour routes to Benton Avenue to avoid the construction area and Route 5, Stop 31 at Beaver Street and Phoenix Avenue will be closed.
