American Federation of Teachers (AFT-AZ) endorsed Secretary of State Katie Hobbs for governor.

“Arizona needs a champion like Secretary Hobbs in the governor’s office,” said AFT Arizona President Ralph Quintana. “Just as Katie has done throughout her career in public service, we know she will continue to fight for the quality education and resources that every student, teacher, and family in Arizona deserves.”

“I am extremely honored to have the support of the Arizona Federation of Teachers,” said Katie Hobbs. “Our teachers and our children are some of our most valuable resources, but right now, public educators and school funding are under attack by our state’s leaders. As governor, I will work alongside AFT to ensure every teacher is properly equipped to provide the best education possible to every student across Arizona.”

The American Federation of Teachers Arizona is dedicated to advancing the well-being of students, teachers, and families through public education and public service. Their members are committed to helping their community to provide fairness, democracy, high-quality education and other public services by engaging, organizing, collective bargaining, and political activism.

AFT’s endorsement is the latest in a growing list of labor endorsements for the Hobbs campaign. She is also supported by the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters; International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 36; and International Brotherhood of Boilermakers, Iron Ship Builders, Blacksmiths, Forgers, and Helpers Local 627.
