A monthlong effort to clean up the Santa Cruz River Park, and to provide resources and alternative shelter to those camping there

A monthlong effort to clean up the Santa Cruz River Park, and to provide resources and alternative shelter to those camping there, is currently underway.

Crews with Pima County, the City of Tucson and the Arizona Department of Transportation began work this week removing items from the riverbed and banks ahead of the upcoming monsoon.

Teams from the Sullivan Jackson Employment Center, City of Tucson Housing and Community Development, the Tucson Police Department and other agencies are working with those camping in the area before, during and after the cleanup effort to provide necessary assistance.
