Milling trucks play a vital role in road repair. Used to remove asphalt from roadways, these machines are set at a 2 inch depth with rows of cutting teeth mounted to remove the previous asphalt level without hurting the base layers of the road. The result is a rough but even surface that can be immediately opened up to traffic before an overlay. Not only does this machine remove the top layer to make way for a new one, it grates the surface of the lower level so that the asphalt adheres tightly.
