If you are remodeling a home you own in unincorporated Pima County

If you are remodeling a home you own in unincorporated Pima County, you may be wondering if you need to obtain a permit at our Development Services Department before you can begin work. The answer depends on the type of work you are doing.

For example, you do not need a permit to replace a door, add insulation to your attic, or replace the shingles on your roof. However, you do need to apply for and obtain a permit if you want to add a fireplace to your home, install a wood burning stove, or build a driveway.
