Our Operations Team had their annual Continuing Education Units (CEU) Training class for our certified pesticide applicators on Tuesday. Staff need to attend 6 credit hours a year to keep their spray licenses current. The class is also used as a refresher on current laws, safety, PPE, ID and techniques.
We currently have 110 certified applicators through Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) with 20 more in the process of attaining their license. We use these licenses to treat invasive weeds in our parks, trails and the Loop.
We are always working to continue our education to find the safest and most effective methods to keep our parks and trails in good shape.
