Major Winter Storms | Michael Muraz

From January 17, 2023 post.

With the potential for several major winter storms impacting our county over the next several days, remember to take precautions and preparedness actions at home as well as with vehicles if any travel is needed.

 • In the event of power outages, have flashlights, candles, alternative heat sources (if possible), alternative cooking capabilities and extra items to stay warm

 • Stock up on groceries/medications before the storm

 • If you might need snowplowing or shoveling, make arrangements ahead of time

 • Consider childcare options as this could become an issue as well as possible school cancellations

 • Avoid travel in extreme weather if possible

 • Keep you phone charged as much as possible

 • If you must travel, ensure that your vehicle is equipped with 4x4 or snow chains, snowbrush/ice scraper, jumper cables, shovel, blankets/clothes/gloves, and keep you fuel above ½ a tank

 • Maintain communication with your family while traveling

Check az511.com for road conditions and have means to pay for a tow if you do have to travel. Stay tuned to local news and social medial for up to date information on weather and impacts that may affect you

If you are visiting make sure you obey roadways and enjoy snow play responsibly. Deputies will be out citing those that do not play responsibly and safely.
