Last week Chair Patrice Horstman represented Coconino County in a meeting with Under Secretary Homer Wilkes, Natural Resources and Environment for the Department of Agriculture and US Forest Service Chief Randy Moore, who together announced the Biden Administration’s 2-year Wildfire Crisis Strategy. The plan adds an additional $490 million for Forest Restoration for 11 additional firesheds. This is the largest infusion of funding for Forest Restoration and Management for our forested lands in the history of the United States.
